PASSAGES

PASSAGES is a non-residential, Level I AOD treatment service that provides less than 6 hours of counseling per client, per week, for those 55 years of age and older for six weeks. These services are for those who do not require medically supervised detoxification, have stable mental and physical health, have had few if any prior treatment experiences, and have a supportive and stable home environment.

PASSAGES provide comprehensive, highly effective outpatient addiction treatment in a safe, personal, and confidential setting. Our treatment approach is highly individualized, providing each client with a uniquely tailored treatment program based on his or her specific needs.

Basic features include:

• Age-specific group treatment that is non-confrontational and supportive.
• A focus on coping with loss.
• A focus on rebuilding the client's social support network.
• A pace of treatment appropriate for the person 55 years old and above.
• Staff members who are interested and experienced in working with those 55 years old and older.
• Linkages with community medical and social services.
