Alternatives to Aggression

The Alternatives to Aggression program is a certified domestic violence treatment program geared to intervene on physical, sexual, and emotional abuse by men toward their intimate partners. The group challenges and educates participants on the belief systems that serve to promote and perpetuate domestic violence in our culture.

Generalized Aggression

The Generalized Aggression program is designed for men who have engaged in physical violence or other threatening, hostile behavior against someone other than an intimate partner. The program emphasizes accountability for personal actions, replacing belief systems that support aggression, and developing assertiveness skills to resolve conflict without hurting others.

Abuse Prevention Group for Women

The Abuse Prevention Group for Women is for women who have been victims and have also used force toward their abusive partners. Group members work toward maximizing their safety, managing their anger, and interacting assertively.

Alternatives to Aggressive-Teen Services

The Alternatives to Aggression-Teen Program is designed to help male and female adolescents reduce or eliminate violence by increasing personal responsibility for their actions. Group participants will learn to be accountable for their actions, challenge beliefs about using aggression to solve conflict, make choices for increased safety in their personal environments and in the wider community, increase empathy, learn anger management and social skills, understand the association of prior traumatic experiences, such as abuse or neglect, with negative beliefs and aggressive actions.

Parenting Paths

Parenting Paths is for parents and caregivers who have used excessive discipline techniques or are otherwise challenged with managing the behavior of their children. The group will focus on the growth and development of children, managing and expressing feelings, discipline techniques and setting limits.

Children from Violent Homes

The Children of Violent Homes (CVH) project provides crisis intervention and a range of short and long term counseling and treatment alternatives for children and their families who have been exposed to domestic violence.
